Phoenix Art Museum hosts Richard Avedon photography (Los Angeles Times)
photographer Richard Avedon captured the civil rights movement, celebs, fashion models and much more. Even his simplest portraits, often taken against plain backgrounds, had depth. “No one has given a nation a more wide-ranging, disciplined photographic document of itself,” the Times of London said of Avedon, who died in 2004.
